How Probiotics Work
A probiotic keeps yeast in balance in the gut.
Getting control of a yeast/fungal overgrowth can take a two or three months or even longer. Every child is different, so please be patient with the process. Sometimes your child may experience die-off symptoms where toxins are released by dead yeast. That’s why we recommend starting slow. Most probiotics can be taken with meals or without meals. During this time, it is important to keeping the bowels moving to get the dead yeast and toxins out of your child’s system.
If the die-off symptoms gets too unpleasant, just cut back on the amount of probiotic for a while to ease the symptoms.
Remember that Candida yeast can be extremely resilient and difficult to rid from your child’s body. Once it’s under control, you will want to keep it there. It takes time to reestablish good health.
Look for a probiotic that is micro-encapsulation. This allows the probiotic to pass safely past the acidic environment in the stomach.
